I have been an active participant in my own children's education in Santa Barbara over a period of 15 years. As a Board Member of Citizens for Neighborhood Schools since 1999, I am aware of the challenges facing our schools. My background in business and past professional experiences provide a diverse perspective helpful to understand all parties in the educational process. My skills promote communication and team support with administrators, teachers and parents. At no time in our district have we had a greater disparity between academic levels and socioeconomic backgrounds. When elected I will work for solutions that will bring us into compliance with the California State Department of Education's CPM program by providing a systematic way to teach our English learners. We must work "smarter not harder". Vote for Rosanne Crawford for "smarter schools". |
