Education First For Grant Candidate StatementQuality public education is the foundation for a stable, healthy community. As an "Education First" candidate, I will work with teachers, community members, staff and parents to ensure we continue to improve instruction for our children. As staff in County Government, I have worked with Grant District board members, district staff and parents in helping create a stable, safe and productive learning environment for our children. I have seen great achievements in the district and pledge to build on that momentum whether it is technological advances, enhanced English Language Proficiency improvements, or increasing API scores. I believe in accountability. There is a shared responsibility for learning and achieving between students, their families and our schools. If elected, I pledge to listen and make sure every stakeholder voice is heard -- it does "take a village". As a future member of the Grant Joint Union High School Board of Trustees, I will work in tandem with current board members to continue the pursuit of excellence. I will work with parents, our community partnerships and district staff. Together, we will achieve the high benchmarks we set for ourselves. Contact: CortezQ@hotmail.com |
