Roy Grimes Roy Grimes was overwhelmingly elected to the Sacramento City Unified Board of Education in November 2002. He was elected by his peers for a term as Board President in November 2005. During his tenure on the Board, Mr. Grimes has made entrepreneurship, diversity in district business relationships and student achievement his priorities. As a result of his direction, the district's organizational infrastructure has improved, bringing greater transparency to decision-making and improved communication with parents and the community. Drawing on his 23-years of elected public service, including 20 years served on the Sacramento County Board of Education, Mr. Grimes endeavors to bring an innovative entrepreneurial perspective to public education. Following graduation from high school, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science with a minor in Journalism and Masters Degrees in Public Management and Political Science. He holds a California Educational Administrative Credential and is a Certified Government Financial Manager. Mr. Grimes has had a rich and varied career.
