Provide our customers with water that is safe, reliable, and affordable while protecting the environment.I have served as a Board Member of the Sacramento Suburban Water District since December 2004. I have worked to improve the quality and reliability of our water supply while protecting the environment. We have added a new source of surface water which will provide our customers with high quality water, reduce overdrafting of the groundwater supply, and protect the lower American River during drought years. We have replaced miles of aging water lines, refurbished several of the District's water facilities, and continue to reduce our backlog of deferred maintenance projects. We are also reducing operation and maintenance costs by controlling District pension and health care costs. I work for the State of California and am involved in a variety of projects that encourage businesses and residents to use sustainable landscaping practices to conserve water, reduce green waste, and protect water quality. I believe this experience has been valuable in my service to the District. My goal is to continue providing our customers with water that is safe, reliable, and affordable while protecting the environment. It has been an honor to serve as a Board Member of the District.
