A Parent's View is Important as Board Member

By Vincent O'Neal

Candidate for Board Member; Temecula Valley Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
TVUSD board needs a parent with a child or children attending school.
I have a child enrolled in this district. I see things through the eyes of a parent. This is a view that the public should demand from at least a portion of the Board that makes the decisions to run our schools. Those without any children enrolled in the district or family members working in the district have no vested interest. Some may have had students in the district in the past but may have lost touch with the many changes in our schools. There needs to be representation, on the board, from someone who sees first hand how the desicions made by the board effect the classrooms. I have been on campus weekly for the past six years. My decision to run is based on the concerns I have heard from other parents, teachers, administrators and staff from this district. Many do not feel that their concerns have been taken seriously in the past. I want to change that. Parents that I have encountered since filing for the election are very supportive. They have voiced their excitement in knowing that a parent who is involved with their school is willing to go all the way to make all of our schools better.
