Local Parent fundraising efforts are vital

Our schools receive lots of support from local parents. Lets not waste that support.

Local parents have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the arts, equipment, and enrichment programs for our kids. Parents will not actively participate in efforts to fund the district rather than their local shcools. If the district wants to fundraise from corporations, rather than individuals, that is great. The district is encouraged to seek large contributors for district-wide programming, but the district should not replace the local parent fundraising.

The district must not rely on parent fund-raising groups to support its core budgets. The parent fund-raising groups are vital for supporting the arts and enrichment programming, and should not be controlled or directed by the district.
