I PLEDGE TO:

  • Place Yorba Linda Residents FIRST in the decision making of our city's development, not developers or special interest groups. I pledge to listen and respond to your concerns respectfully.
  • Preserve the low-density nature of our city.
  • Coordinate with the Brea Police Department to obtain up-to-date crime statistics and develop strategies to address the increased trend in Part 1crimes, particularly burglaries. Develop a plan to begin immediate reduction of Crime in our community.
  • Support the implementation of community education addressing methods we can use to keep our community safer.
  • Promote fiscal responsibility in the operations of Yorba Linda. We need to carefully evaluate the need for any lawsuits that reduce monetary resources the city can use for other things. Our council sued our school district costing millions of dollars and delayed the opening of our high school. They also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting the citizens of Yorba Linda who disputed the high-density development plan for our town center.
  • Promote Responsible Development of our downtown and other areas of our city while maintaining the nature and character of Yorba Linda; semi-rural, low density atmosphere.
  • Preserve and protect our open space including the hiking and equestrian trails
  • Promote further development of parks and recreational including the Cultural Arts Center, Veterans Park, and other open spaces the entire community can enjoy.
  • Support the small business owners of our town. Development should enhance their ability to be successful in our community, not be threatened with eminent domain or being forced out by "big box" stores or developers.
  • Promote a reasonable Planning Department Process so YL Citizens understand what is expected and rules do not change as you go through the process of remodels, additions or new construction.
  • Work with neighboring communities to mitigate projects that may negatively impact Yorba Linda with regards to traffic, safety and resource availability.
  • Continue to negotiate with the railway system to provide mediation for train noise and visual blight.
