Political Philosophy for Minard Duncan
Candidate for |
I want to continue serving students, parents and staff in the kindergarten through grade eight Fullerton School District. I have served the school community well in the last four years because of my extensive service and knowledge of the district and community. I am a listener and problem solver as well as a person of intregity. A CHALLENGING CURRICULUM... I believe all children are entitled to a quality education. Our public schools must emphasize the mastery of the language arts of reading, writing, listening and speaking; and mathematics. Attention must also be given to the arts, science, technology, history, geography, health and nutrition, and physical education. Research indicates that high achieving schools present a broad curriculum. QUALITY TEACHERS... I will continue to work to hire and keep the best teachers, administrators and classified employees for our schools. Continued teacher training in this ever changing technological world shall be encouraged. STRONG PARTNERSHIPS... I support a strong English language development program to better prepare our students for today's society. I encourage active involvement of parents, school staffs, and businesses. By working together, we can go from good to great! FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY... It is paramount to our children's education that we manage the district with a plan on how to best spend your tax dollars. As I have done over the past four years, I will work to maximize existing programs and create new ones to increase our students' development and potential, improve their effectiveness as critical thinkers, and develop responsible citizens who strive for a better community, city, state, country and world. IF YOU AGREE WITH ME, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR VOTE. |
