I am the proud mother of two teenage boys, 16 and 18, one of whom sustained brain injury during the birth process that resulted in special learning needs. In order to assure that he received a proper education, I had to become a strong advocate in the educational process. As a result, I understand a large scope of education laws, including appropriations, budgets, and special programs

My husband and I own and operate two businesses, one for-profit and one non-profit. I have worked for over 25 years in management, consulting, and as a turn-around specialist in one of the most complex industries in America, healthcare. I have extensive training, expertise and experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and operations, including personnel management, of large business concerns.

As the Director of Advocates for a Better America, a non-profit corporation, I use my expertise to help individuals obtain healthcare benefits due them, as well as assist healthcare providers to navigate the choppy waters of healthcare delivery and reimbursement. I also use my experience to help others receive the educational benefits due them.

I conduct my personal and business life with one abiding principal taught to me by my father. He lived this statement and passed it on to me and it has served me well. "Always do what you say and say what you mean."

To some people in this community, my reputation precedes me. Whether on the same or opposite sides, anyone who deals with me knows exactly where I stand. I have no hidden agendas and I am always honest.

My opinions don't matter because I will never use them to make decisions on the school board. I will never put my own interests before that of the best interests of the children and school district. I'm just a mom who wants to help bring the money back to the children. I want to see what is really going on behind the scenes and report it to you. With your vote I can do just that.
