My Vision for AlhambraBy Carlos A. ChavezCandidate for City Council Member; City of Alhambra; District 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The real Alhambra is its people--a highly diverse and harmonious population.Alhambra is a modern, family-oriented and highly diverse city that affords all of its residents with a high quality of living. We have safe streets, good schools, and excellent public services. Alhambra is a city that benefits from and supports a vibrant commercial and retail sector. And it is a city that both demonstrates appreciation for its architectural legacy and carefully guides its growth and development to meet the challenges of the 21st century--without losing the people-centered character and warmth of its neighborhoods. The real Alhambra is its people--a highly diverse and harmonious population. What makes Alhambra a distinct and desirable city is not a famous landmark, nor a fabled history, nor a strategic geographic location. From its tree-lined streets, charming homes, churches, parks, schools, and small businesses, people create the web of personal interactions that gives Alhambra its pulse and make Alhambra alive and real--a tangible spirit of belonging, a neighborliness, a sense of community. |
