My platform in brief: 1. Openness for new business: I would have been in favor of having an INandOUT Burger, a Wal-Mart Warehouse, and an Olive Garden, etc. 2. Improve the infrastructure: With so many of our streets deteriorating and the Ridgecrest Police Department in need of upgraded equipment-why not sell off excess city held property and use the money toward these costs ? 3. A look at the budget: Once a month publish in clear format where the taxpayers' money is being spent along with current proposals. Also the community should have a copy of each members voting record. - Are there sufficient differences of viewpoint for example ? If not I fear we shall ever be relegated to a one-sided city hall. 4. A Mayor the voters chose: Why should the Mayor continually arise out of the City Council ? Shouldn't such a vital position as a Mayor be chosen directly and specifically by the people ? Wouldn't it follow that he would then feel free to be more representative of the sentiments and wishes of our citizens, as opposed to leaning towards his fellow Council Members, who are in fact because of this very thing perhaps his closest constituents ? 5. A vote for me: Is a vote for a fresh approach to the infrastructure, the budget, and business enterprise. It means better streets, well equipped police, more jobs-a better place to live ! So cast your vote for Randy Jenkins this November 7th, for Ridgecrest City Council Member.
