Political Philosophy for Mary Beth Wolford
Candidate for |
Mary Beth Wolford's goal is to represent the citizens of Eureka from an independent perspective seeking solutions that benefit the community. The office of City Council is a non-partisan position. Mary Beth feels that all perspectives of citizens should be honored and listened to. She strives to study the issues carefully, researching as necessary and attends council meetings well prepared and informed. She remains open to comments and positions shared during the meeting. Mary Beth believes in consensus building, problem solving and open discussion of issues at hand. She is very concerned about the litigious mode often used to escalate matters and block progress in the community. She believes that council members need to recognize that while their perspectives may vary; they all need to work collaboratively and respectfully to successfully bring about outcomes that promote the city's vision. |
