  • Honored as Secondary Teacher of the Year by Fresno Unified (1999) and Downtown Rotary Club (2000).
  • Selected as a Mentor Teacher and a Master Teacher for expertise in teaching reading and US history.

  • Accelerate student learning. 30 years in a classroom provides me great insight as a policymaker, particularly on curriculum and instruction issues.
  • Reduce the dropout, suspension and expulsion rates
  • Career Tech Ed - focus additional resources and add additional classes in areas where there is employment demand.
