Board Member; Byron Union School District

Dear Fellow Parents, Voters and Taxpayers,

My name is Bobbi Nugent and I am seeking election as your representative for the Byron Union School District Board of Trustees. I am the parent to four children attending school in the district. Since 2000 I have attended school board meetings on a regular basis. What started out as a desire to have a voice for my children quickly turned into advocating for all our children and the community at large. Over the years I have witnessed the agenda and the school bureaucracy take priority over our children's education. I believe that the school district needs to be more accountable to the community it serves. My extensive knowledge of the district and the issues at hand make me a viable candidate for the BUSD Board of Trustees.

My priorities are: Nurturing Unity amongst us all no matter what school or where you live in the district. Fulfill the purpose of our successful bond campaign by making sure that Measure "C" bond money is spent efficiently and effectively. Finding ways to continuously value our teachers, for they are the core of our district teaching our future. Creating a high quality, effective learning environment for all our students and accomplishing this with professionalism, accountability and fiscal responsibility. Open and transparent decisions that are informed by research, analysis, public input and reasoned discussion.
