Affordable Housing for our Firefighters Within our District

If a Firefighter cannot live within the SRVFPD, they must commute long distances when called out in an emergency.
It is essential that our Firefighters be able to respond, in the strength necessary to maintain our under five minute response time, one of the best in the nation. We live in a semi-arid climate, making quick response imperative.

The knowledge that traffic on I-580 and I-680 is in gridlock much of the day, with no end in sight is well-known.

There are numerous ways to provide affordable housing for our Firefighters within SRVFPD, without resorting to government subsidies. It can be done. It must be done.
