Increase Water ConservationBy Andy KatzCandidate for Director; East Bay Municipal Utility District; Ward 4 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Increase Water ConservationKatz supports increasing water conservation efforts, discounts for water conservation, strategically expanding recycled water infrastructure, new incentives for water saving appliances such as showerheads, dishwashers, clothes washers, and toilets, and expanding youth employment for appliance installation and potentially graywater systems that efficiently reuse rain water, dishwater, or shower water for watering the yard. This will make water more affordable for customers who conserve. Water conservation will also benefit the environment through energy savings and reduced diversions from the San Francisco Bay Delta, where many species and wetlands are threatened.
