- Have taught at U.C. Berkeley and come from a family of teachers, pre-kindergarten to graduate school
- Have been responsible for bringing in millions of dollars in public agency, non-profit, and business community resources as part of my work responsibilities
- Have successfully written teacher training, literacy, and garden grants for Berkeley public schools
- Have estabished relationships with our City, regional, state, and federal elected representatives that will greatly aid my ability to identify and bring in outside resources to our schools
- Have successfully led multi-racial/cultural community problem-solving efforts leading to workable and financially sustainable solutions
