Boundaries

By Gwen Estes

Candidate for Governing Board Member; New Haven Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
With the closure of two schools, we must look at the current boundaries.
While I opposed the closure of our schools, I must move forward and look at the current boundaries. I believe the most equitable solution is to go to OPEN ENROLLMENT. Students would be permitted to attend which ever school they wanted. There would a student enrollment cap for each school, to avoid any enrollment disparities. Students who live closest to the school in question would be given first choice, as would students who are already attending that particular school.
