I'm running for election to the United States House of Representatives for California District 52 because I will no longer watch my country turn into a nation that would preemptively strike another country, that would allow the terrorists who hurt us to live free, that would restrict by Constitutional amendment the rights of a select few, that would allow the torture of prisoners, that would condone the trampling of civil rights under the guise of national defense and that would allow tax relief to corporations while its weakest citizens suffer in poverty.

Our government would prohibit desperately needed stem cell research in the name of Honoring Life but would not prohibit throwing in the trash those very same stem cells.

Our government cuts benefits provided by MediCare and Social Security in the very same month as continuing the waiver of the royalty fees of Oil Companies to drill on public land.

Our government doesn't concern itself with health care for those who need it most: our children, our elderly, our poor. Our government is more concerned with making permanent the tax cuts to the wealthiest of our citizens.

I am not running for office to make money nor am I running for office to obtain power. I am running for office to make a difference.

If the Republicans continue to refuse to clean their house, we must give the Democrats a majority in the House of Representatives so it can begin the process to demand answers from President Bush. Yes, indeed, I mean impeachment. The People cannot further afford the incompetence of this Administration and must demand action of the Congress.

The people of our nation must now stand up and say, "No more!" I will stand up for all of us whose hearts are heavy with sorrow over where our country is headed.

I will make a difference.
