Questions & Answers

1. What experience or training do you have which would help the District meet its goals?

I am a former Director of the Water District and former Engineer of the Water District. I hold two Masters degrees in Water Resources Engineering and have experience of over 40 years in water management and planning.

2. What is your evaluation of the financial condition of the District?

District's reserve funds are at a low level. Further, the current organizational structure of the Water District wastes our valuable tax dollars. The District's fiscal position can be improved if the Water District Board votes to implement proper measures such as eliminating redundant high paying positions and take back fiscal authority from the CEO which it has delegated to CEO.

3. In what ways would you collaborate with other governmental entities to achieve the District's goals?

The District has to work with local cities and the county as well as many other state and federal agencies in running the District operations. The District should have proactive, regularly scheduled dialogues with these agencies on the matters of common interest. As your new representative from District Four, I will meet with City Council representatives from Santa Clara, Campbell and San Jose as well as with the new County Supervisor at least annually. There is more responsibility to serving as a Director than just attending meetings. I look forward to representing you and I ask for your vote.
