Shall the Gann Appropriations Limit increase approved by the Oak Grove School District voters in 1991 be continued for four years, allowing the District to continue to expend funds generated by the existing special tax of $68 per parcel for remedial services, repair of school buildings and grounds, purchase of instructional supplies and equipment, installation of energy conservation equipment, and restoration of services reduced in prior years in the library, counseling, custodial and maintenance areas?

The expenditures will be used for remedial services; repair of school buildings and grounds; purchase of instructional supplies and equipment, installation of energy conservation equipment; and restoration of services reduced in prior years in the library, counseling, custodial, and maintenance areas. A "yes" vote is a vote to approve the spending limit for the maximum of four years. A "no" vote is a vote not to approve raising the spending limit for a maximum of four years. | Oak Grove School District is asking its citizens to continue the $68 parcel tax initially approved by the voters by a 74% margin in 1991. Quality education cannot be provided without adequate financial support. In recent years, State funding has decreased and the district has been forced to reduce programs and services by over $4 million and had to close two schools. Although some vital support services have been reduced, the district has continued providing excellent education for students. The parcel tax revenue has been key to softening the impact of inadequate state funding.

Parcel tax funds have contributed to Oak Grove School District's proud history of high academic achievement as recognized by the large number of National Blue Ribbon and California Distinguished Schools, Golden Bell winners, and more Glenn Hoffmann Awards for innovative educational programs than any other Santa Clara County school district. Good schools enhance the community's lifestyle and increase home values. In all previous renewal elections the citizens of the District have shown their unwavering support by approving the parcel tax renewals for additional four-year terms by substantial vote margins. Oak Grove has kept faith with its voters by spending parcel tax funds responsibly and only for purposes the voters intended.
