Wilma M. Wilson is a 30 year resident of the City of Carson. She is married to Dr. William M. Wilson Jr. She is the mother of two daughters, Tokewisha(Teacher) and April (Dentist). She has three grandchildren and Co-Pastor of Peace & Joy Christian Church. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters of Scisnce with a Marraige Family Therapist in Psychology from Pepperdine University and a Juris Doctorate Degree of Law.

Wilma is a member of the National Ogranization for College Women, California Marriage and Family Therapist, Life subscribing Memeber of the N.A.A.C.P., Former Chairperson for Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald's Women Congressional Council. Former member of the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority Board for the Homeless. She is a member of BAPAC, LAWWPAC and Women's Political Council.

Wilma is also founder and executive director of Peace & Joy Care Center Battered Women Shelter and Peace & Joy Child Development Center. She is a Planning Commissioner for the City of Carson, elected member to the Los Angeles County Central Committee in 2004 and 3rd Vice President of Carson Women Club.

Wilma's outstanding community service include: Addie Patterson Awards for Outstanding Community Services (1999), Bank of America Community Catalyst Award (1998), Outstanding Woman of the Year (2002), 2002 Leadership Carson Community Award (2001), Featured on Channel (7) and (13) News expounding on domestic violence. She is a member of the Clergy Council for Women and BETA PHI SIGMA Sorority and 2004 Humanitarian Award.

Wilma is a strong advocate for women and their children.
