George C. Montgomery has been serving Los Angeles County for 30 years as an attorney and Judge pro tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court. He is the most experienced candidate for Superior Court Judge, office 102. His experience includes:

  • Former L.A. County Judge pro tem
  • Arbitrator
  • Los Angeles City Attorney's office
  • California State Attorney General's office
  • Civil litigator
  • Criminal defense attorney

George C. Montgomery, a father of seven and grandfather of five, was born in Monterey, California. After losing his father when he was just 5 years old, Montgomery and his young mother moved to Los Angeles. By age 10, George Montgomery was working alongside his mother as a stock boy at F.W. Woolworth's.

Montgomery worked his way through Loyola H.S., Mount Carmel H.S., Loyola University, U.S.C. and, after passing the accelerated entrance exam, Loyola Law School. Prior to entering Law School, Montgomery served in the United States Army Counter Intelligence Corps.

During law school Montgomery worked with both the Los Angeles City Attorney's office and the State Attorney General's office.

Montgomery co-founded the law firm of Montgomery, Bottum, Regal and McNally, which, in its first 15 years, grew from 4 to 51 lawyers. Here he served as lead trial counsel in more than 150 civil and criminal cases.

Montgomery handled several high-profile appeals, including a matter that went before the United States Supreme Court.

Montgomery entered into private practice in 1999 as a defense attorney, arbitrator and trial coach to young attorneys. He is licensed by the state bars of the District of Columbia, Texas, Washington and California.

Montgomery is one of a very few American lawyers licensed as a solicitor of the Supreme Court for England and Wales. His extensive experience uniquely qualifies him to serve our community as Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, office 102.

"All who enter my courtroom will be treated evenly and fairly," says Montgomery. "A 30-year career in the courts has not only qualified me to make this statement, it's given me the know-how to put this plan into action."
