Renewable EnergyBy Stanley E. RobertsCandidate for Council Member; City of Foster City | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My plan to make Foster City a more self-reliant city.We need to be forward thinking and pursue alternate forms of renewable energy. Foster City currently spends close to $600,000 annually to power the city. The technology for solar energy has advanced to the point that it can be integrated into existing fuel powered components. The costs of domestic and foreign oils are causing a surge in fuel costs nationwide. City Council members have voted down the idea of solar energy on several occasions in the past few years, the latest vote was in 2003 where the addition of solar energy to the Foster City library was voted down. Foster City must lead by example and look for alternative ways to power our city. |
