Jim Harvey's StatementBy Jim HarveyCandidate for Member; Montara Water and Sanitary District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Name: Jim Harvey Age: 58 Occupation: Pulmonary Physiologist/Incumbent Education and Qualifications: Please vote for me so I can continue my work in making significant improvements in the Montara and Moss Beach Water and Sanitary Systems. My first goal is to continue the search for the lowest cost and best quality water for our newly acquired Water District so that the water moratorium can be ended and to avoid shortages, as we had under Cal-Am. My second goal is to continue rebuilding our Water System and to insure that our Sanitary System can meet new federal regulatory requirements. I have been active in our community for 20 years and have been involved in local Scouting and helping at Farallone Elementary View School. I was a co-founder of the Montara Moss Beach Water Improvement Association which began the process of obtaining local control of our water system from private corporate interests. Since graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, I have worked in Medical Research at Stanford Hospital. Owning our own water system has already meant financial savings for our community but we still have much work to do together. |
