Improve test scores and retain our programsBy Marie E. BrizuelaCandidate for Board Member; Jefferson Elementary School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We need to continue to raise our test scores. Keeping class size reduction enables our teachers to meet the needs of all students. We have adopted an enriched English Language Learners Program to enable many of our students to become fluent in English comprehension. Our P.E., Computer and Library Aides are necessary to assist our teachers in helping our students be successful in all areas. We are proud that our test scores have risen and must continue to raise test scores. We need to retain all of our programs that help our students. P.E., Computer and Library Aides are important to retain because they directly service our students to enable all students to be successful. Keeping class size reduction (20 to 1) is important and allows teachers the time to meet the needs of all students. Our enhanced English Language Learners Program will better service our students with limited English. We need to insure that all students are successful and that English comprehension is at the top. |
