Develop a position to bring new businesses to BurlingameBurlingame has been negligent in its efforts to keep up with neighboring cities. We need, and should have in place, an Economic Development Manager with the task of bringing new companies to the City. We are faced with many missed opportunities, and loss of potential tax revenue because of this. Burlingame has a unique location, and we are not capitalizing on this. The Bay Front and Rollins Road areas are an ideal location for large company campuses. We have been to reactionary in the passed, and need to become pro-active in the future. A. We must be pro-active in our efforts to attract new businesses to Burlingame. B. We cannot simply stand by and hope that a large, non-polluting company will pick Burlingame C. Supporting this activity should be a cooperative effort between the City, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Broadway and Burlingame Avenue DBIDs. |
