Increase funding for the colleges in the SBCCD

By Don Singer

Candidate for Governing Board Member; SAN BERNARDINO Community College District

This information is provided by the candidate
Making sure that the District receives fair and equitable funding
Ever since the people of the State of California passed Prop 13 (in 1978) the residents of the San Bernardino Community College District have received less in funding than the average of the other 71 community college districts. Thus for the 2003-2004 school year our District recieved some $3,900 per full time student, whereas the State average was $4,500 per full time student. Were we to have received the State average, our Distict would have gotten some $820,000 in addtional income during this school year.

I promise to do all that I can to increase the funding so that our students are not deprived of our rightful share of funding from the State.
