Norm Walker Age: 43, Occupation: Businessman, Parent, Coach

I have strong regard for the natural environment. I graduated from the University of California at Irvine, (UCI) where I studied the function and purpose of state and local government. I have served many years in the financial/securities industry and currently own and operate a successful commercial insurance business.

My wife, Jill and I moved our three school-age children to San Clemente, in March of 2000. While in San Clemente, I have had the pleasure of coaching local Little League and soccer teams. I enjoy supporting athletic programs to help guide our children.

I am greatly concerned about the quality and safety of our beaches and parks. Just north of us is the state's most beautiful - and most polluted beach, Doheny State Beach - and it needs to be dealt with. Traffic congestion has gotten out of hand and our schools need the funding they deserve.

The safety and welfare of our families is paramount in my mind. I will use my significant financial background to ensure that the city remains fiscally healthy and we plan wisely for the future.
