My goals that I pledge to fulfill reflect the needs and the issues that many of our residents, MPC faculty and staff as well as many students shared with me since I left the Board in 2001..
- Being accountable for BALANCED budget and expenditures
- Reorganize trustee areas
- Increase faculty and staff diversity through hiring process
- Increase enrollment of minority students that is presently in decline
- Increase rehiring of classified employees that is presently severely undercut
- Increase use of technology by our local residents, K-12 students and others
- Increase community participation in trustee area reorganization
- Apply my business, professional and former Trustee experience to ensure proper implementation of the bond measure through continuation of a real share governance participation and spirit
- In the past, on my initiative, the Regular Board meetings were held in our local communities. If financially feasible, I will like to revitilize them.
- Increase community participation in the selection process of hiring a new College President/Superintendent
- We live in a beautiful area where environment plays a vital role in our lives. +
Education in environmental needs is a must. It is, therefore important to support and strengthen such type of programs.
- In the past, on my initiative, the Board organized campus visitations that provided us with more insights on the programs and campus activities I will like to revitalize them as well. And I will continue to be visible on the campus.
- Continue to support Monterey Peninsula College Foundation.
- Assure share governance for ALL. Not only selected but all information must be shared with all participants: the students, faculty and the staff.
- Increase full time employment positions
- Support Satellite Campus program
- Increase communication with the students, faculty, staff and local communities
