Children are our future. Public education is one of the foundations of a free democracy. Excellence in educaiton affects success in life. The importance of an effective school program can not be overemphasized. An open collaborative approach involving all the stakeholders is essential for success. Communication by the school board and superintendent to all the stakeholders is essential for success. I favor progrms that encurages, critical thinking skills, good citizenship, fare play and empathy for others. A good school program must recogize the value and importance of teachers. All invovled including the school board, superintenden, principles and teaching staff are accountable for results. Educational services should promote academic excellence, provide occupational related training and carrier exploration for students not planning to attend a university and have an effective special education program for students with special needs that is effective in promoting graduation and longer range succes. Recomendations by a speciial education task force should be addressed without further delay.
