My Belief Statement and Highlights
Four years ago I ran not for 1/5th of a vote, I ran to make a difference for our kids and community.

I am a hardworking individual that is committed to completing a job and doing it well. As I mentioned before, I served as chairman for the Measure W School Bond Initiative in 1998 and Measure I in 2004. These bonds have provided funds for the modernization of each of our South Whittier Schools. I believe that well maintained, attractive schools both improve the quality of education and help to increase our property values.

I believe that the District must make every reasonable effort to improve student achievement. In my four years on the school board, South Whittier has achieved substantial gains in student test scores. I am also committed to strong, fair, discipline procedures at each of our campuses.

I take pride in being part of a School Board that recruits and retains the highest qualified teachers and provides them with ample training and modern teaching space. I am fully aware that teachers are the front line providers of education services in our school system. Everything possible must be done to support and assist them in their classrooms.

I believe that the School Board answers to the taxpayers. I feel the taxpayers are entitled to management of their hard earn dollars. I know that budgets are tight, and that the taxpayers deserve to receive value for their dollar. During my tenure, the Board has at all times maintanined a balanced budget.

Most of all, I believe in public education and the idea that every child is entitled to a quality education in a local school.

It takes a tremendous amount of work and dedication but I am committed to our children.

A vote for me on November 8th is a vote to continue the stability in our District.

Thank you.
