Open Letter to the Whittier City School District Community

I hope to obtain your endorsement and support in this important race.

I am a lifelong resident of Whittier and would like to make a meaningful contribution to the school district that started my academic career. With your help, I will fulfill my goal of serving the students attending the same schools and classrooms I attended when I was a child.

Having attended UCLA for my undergraduate studies as well as for my law degree, I firmly believe that in order for our students to succeed, they must continue to be challenged by innovative teachers and a rigorous curriculum. If elected to the Whittier City School District Board, I pledge to continue the progress our schools have made by working closely with teachers, parents, and community groups.

I am also motivated by the fact that in a few short years my children will be attending the local schools. By taking a proactive leadership role in our schools, I will work with teachers to ensure that together we can provide a quality education that is challenging, rewarding and fully prepares all children for high school and beyond.

As a career prosecutor, you can be assured that I will observe all laws pertaining to good governance and will protect the rights of children and residents served by the Whittier City School District.

Again, I humbly request your support and vote on November 8, 2005. With your help, I will serve as an example of the positive impact that the Whittier City School District can have on the children it serves.
