Governing Board Member; HUMBOLDT COUNTY Board of Education; Trustee Area 6

I have lived in Humboldt County since 1992, nine of those years in Arcata. I have a daughter in high school. I was one of the orginal founders of Alder Bay Senior Living Center and continue as the facility administrator.

I helped develop a successful partnership between Alder Bay and Lafayette School, that to this day proves that community businesses and local schools can work together for our kids. I have been honored to participate with many dedicated educators and administrators in strategic planning sessions for both Lafayette and Eureka City School District. I was also privileged to take part in the Special Education Partnership Council at HSU.

Since joining the Humboldt County Board of Education and now as vice president, I see may role as my value statement. First and foremost as a ADVOCATE for public education and our kids. Ensuring ACCOUNTABILITY for student learning in the programs operated through the office of education. Maintaining COOPERATIVE and SUPPORTIVE working relationships with local school districts and boards. And providing community LEADERSHIP.
