Whether through sex education or sensitivity training, schools have an obligation to prepare children to be positive members of society, as well as to be able to protect their own health and well-being. While parents play a critical role in the social and moral development of their children, the schools have teachers that are trained and experienced not only in the scientific content but the pedagogical theory necessary for effective educational practices. I believe that the social sciences curriculum should be continuously evaluated and improved while keeping it within the frameworks of the law.
