As a city, we can better protect our communities'unique identity and values, without any increase in taxes. Vote Yes on Measure "P"El Dorado Hills has always been a great community to live, work, raise a family and retire in. There is no reason that should ever change, as long as El Dorado Hills remains effective in speaking, and acting, to uphold our community values and safeguard our great quality of life. We support Cityhood as the best tool available for safeguarding our community's future. That El Dorado Hills has grown into one of the region's most desirable places to live should surprise no one. Ours is a great community because we've always coupled a confident "can-do" outlook with positive, caring attitudes and a commitment to build and maintain a high quality of life. This strong core of people who want the best for El Dorado Hills families, and who time and again have displayed a special concern for protecting and providing healthy activities for our youth and our seniors, will find in our new City Council a strong and able partner. The power of a City Council to advocate for its community is immense. Over a span of years, the cumulative impact of such advocacy is invariably dramatic. Here in El Dorado Hills, the result of combining our energetic community aspirations with focused City Council advocacy will be no less powerful. We will see a strengthening communitywide in the things which make up our great quality of life. The resources, the focus, and the partnership a City can help bring to bear will enhance sport leagues, youth organizations, service clubs, seniors programs, neighborhood groups, as well as school programs citywide. Our entire community will gain as the City of El Dorado Hills becomes our community's foremost advocate, both in El Dorado County and across the region, on behalf of the things that can directly improve local quality of life. The greater focus on "local" quality of life Cityhood will bring will have other positive results. Cityhood will bring the opportunity to improve our roads and traffic conditions, provide additional law enforcement officers, expand our `sphere of influence' regionally, and bring more direct decision-making to El Dorado Hills. As a city, the decisions that affect you will be made locally in meetings you can easily attend by people who live in our neighborhoods that you can see every day A City of El Dorado Hills will bring more responsive government, better taxpayer services, and better business/job opportunities--all because at the local level, its easier for communities to demand, and obtain, a high level of accountability. As a city, we can better protect our communities' unique identity and values, without any increase in taxes. Your "Yes" on Measure P on November 8th, will take El Dorado Hills to a new level of community advocacy, will increase our community's stature within the region, and will give all of us a vital new tool for "safeguarding the future". |
