My Background:

  • My wife Sue and I have been EDH Residents for 27 years and our youngest son Steve is a graduate of Marina Junior High and Oakridge High School.
  • I completed a 40 year career at Aerojet designing aerospace instrumentation and controls systems and retired as a Senior Engineering Specialist.
  • During my career at Aeroject, I have served as a Project Engineer and Cost Account Manager for many multi-million dollar projects.

Why I'm Running for City Council?
  • We need to preserve our quality of life in EDH, which is deteriorating from a lack of infrastructure. The County B.O.S.has not provided the necessary road improvements, highway 50 interchanges or improved signalization needed to mitigate the rapid EDH growth that they have approved.
  • Our Community, with local leadership, can assure a continued vibrant life style to live and raise our families.
  • My goal is to preserve our quality of life, improve our traffic congestion problem and create an efficient and responsive City government.

My Community Experience:
  • Elected to the EDHCSD in 1985 and served for 5 years.
  • During this period, the CSD board had the vision to develop the community park and facilities located at EDH Blvd. and Harvard way despite a well organized opposition to building the park complex.
  • I had the privilege of serving as the board chairman during some of the most critical periods of park financing and development.
  • I'm a founding member of the EDH Area Panning Advisory Committee (APAC) formed in 1982.
  • I have served as APAC's chairman multiple times.
  • I was APAC's Subcommittee Chairman for the first EDH specific plan which set the standards for following specific plan reviews.
  • I'm still an active member of APAC.
  • I'm a founding member of both the EDH Community Council and Community Enhancement advisory Committee appointed by Supervisor Sam Bradley and Rusty Dupray.
  • I co founded the El Dorado Hills Incorporation effort with John Hidahl in 1996 and served as Chairman of the Incorporation Task Force which determined that incorporation was viable for El Dorado Hills.
  • I have served as the Vice Chairman of the Incorporation Committee for the last 6 years and have led the LAFCO interfacing effort for the Incorporation Committee.
  • I served on the Incorporation Committee's Revenue Neutrality team that negotiated with LAFCO, El Dorado County, the Fire Districts and Transit Authority to define the LAFCO terms and conditions for incorporation of EDH.

Why Vote for Me?
  • I have demonstrated my community leadership skills and have acquired the experience and knowledge required to serve on the City Council.

Please Vote Yes on Measure P and for John Hidahl and Norm Rowett for City Council.
