A brief biography, and why I'm running

I am running for a seat on the board of directors because I want to get to know the people and the community, and I have a variety of skills and experience that I believe will be helpful to the district.

When I attended the most recent board meeting down at the swim hole, it seemed as though the board was having trouble finding willing candidates to fill the two vacant seats on the board. I wanted to offer my services to the board and filed for a seat on the board.

Whether or not I earn a seat on the board, I offer my services to the District. I can assist with the District newsletter and web site, communications between the District and the county, and all financial, legal and business matters.

I have years of business experience managing large Tower Records stores. After leaving Tower, I worked at the Lodi News-Sentinel, a 17,000 circulation daily in San Joaquin County. I soon became the paper's business editor.

In the course of my reporting, I covered City Council, Planning Commission and School Board meetings. I also covered meetings and reported on the Downtown Lodi Business Association, an assessment district that is in some ways similar to the CRCSD. I became familiar with rules of order, the "sunshine" provisions of the Brown Act (from the public's side), as well as the issues related to the private expenditure of assessed money. This experience will help me serve me the community well.

I feel I would be of great service to the community and hope you will consider voting for me. I will do a good job.
