El Dorado County, CA | November 8, 2005 Election |
My Reason For Running:By Jeff HabermanCandidate for City Council Member; City of El Dorado Hills | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
There are many reasons each candidate has given for running for City Council. I share many of those same concerns: Traffic, Police, Senior Facilities, CC&R Enforcement, No New Taxes or Fees, Sensitive Park Development, but the beauty and rural setting is what I want to preserve. Please read more of my commitment to preserve El Dorado Hills:I have lived in El Dorado Hills for almost 20 years and in the surrounding area all of my life. Since moving to El Dorado Hills, people, organizations and social groups have welcomed my family into this community. We call El Dorado Hills home, and as such, I wish to do all I can to keep it a wonderful place to live. I have been asked to lend my expertise to this community and have done so, leading the Chamber of Commerce as its President, as Vice Chairman of our local Area Planning Advisory Council, and recently as Chairman of the Design Review Committee and one of four Design Review Task Force Members restoring dignity and consistent evaluations to a board once battered with the "yellow house" stigma. I am strongly perceived as a candidate that can work with County in the transition from a County Government to a City Government. All of the candidates have listed traffic congestion, superior police service, and no new taxes as a platform to run for office, and I share those concerns as well. But these are common sense platforms with obvious needs that will be addressed by the new city council. My goal is to maintain the beauty of El Dorado Hills which is the reason each of us has made this area our home. My real expertise is over 30 years of experience in planning and design. While it is true that El Dorado County has already approved over ninety five percent of El Dorado Hills to development and those agreements can't be revoked by a new city, the ways in which grading, tree mitigation, changes to final road maps, the quality of lands dedicated to parks, as well as individual lot development and tree removal can be protected. As your City Councilman I will do all that I can to protect El Dorado Hills from tree clear cutting, mass site grading and all other undesirable development practices. I hope that you will join with me in protecting El Dorado Hills with your vote November 8th. |
