Candidate for
Council Member; City of San Jose; Council District 7

I am an attorney and also serve as the Director of the Vietnamese Spring Festival and Parade.

Born in San Jose, I am the daughter of Vietnamese immigrant parents. I am a graduate of U.C Berkeley and Santa Clara University Law School. Today, I have my own law practice and work with my family in their small business.

As the Director of the Vietnamese Spring Festival and Parade, I have overseen all aspects of this community and civic event, which began in a church parking lot eight years ago and has grown into one of the most anticipated Bay Area events with over 60,000 people attending this year.

I also serve on the United Way Community Advisory Council and helped raise money for Red Cross relief efforts. Most recently I was the fundraising Chair for a local Tsunami Victims Fundraiser. I previously helped raise money to help victims of the 9/11 tragedy.

For two years, I helped organize voter registration drives in the Silicon Valley. I also served as a mentor for high school students and tutored Vietnamese English Learner Students in all high school subjects.

Using my experience in law, I volunteered to help low-income families with landlord-tenant problems. At the East San Jose Community Law Center, I assisted low-income clients in employment issues and workers' rights.

I am a candidate for San Jose City Council, District 7.
