Who is SAM PEDROZA?

Sam is a candidate for the Claremont City Council, election to be held on March 8. Sam is running for one of two seats up for consideration.

Sam's civic involvement includes serving as Chair of the Community Services Commission and member of the Open Space Subcommittee for the Claremont General Plan. Sam is also on the boards for the Claremont Heritage and Claremont Wildlands Conservancy. Professionally, Sam is an Environmental Planner with the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. Before that he was the Public Information Coordinator for the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District and the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority.

Sam's professional understanding of urban management and planning is balanced with his education in urban planning from UCLA, where he earned a Masters of Arts degree, and from San Diego State University where he earned a Bachelors of Arts in Public Administration.

Sam and Julie, his wife of 10 years, made their home in south Claremont nine years ago and soon after started their family. They are the proud parents of two boys, Zachary, age 7, currently in the 2nd grade at Mountain View Elementary and Nicholas, age 5, in Kindergarten at the same school. Julie operates a thriving home-base business and is currently serving as President-Elect of the Mountain View Parents and Faculty Association (PFA).
