Then after Michael's gig at 7PM its Ron Rovics and Robb Johnson and their music performance. So mark your calendars! America's #1 activist singer-songwriter, David Rovics, touring with his British counterpart, Robb Johnson will be appearing in Claremont in March. Prepare to be inspired by their songs of opposition to America's oppressive domestic and international policies and of support for the humane and just world we envision. David recently sang in Washington D.C. at Bush's inauguration protest. He is now at Porto Allegre, Brazil at the World Social Forum. He travels the world providing musical counterpoint to G8 summits and other international meetings of 1st World policy-makers. If you have not yet heard David's music, listen to/download a sample from his website: http://www.davidrovics.com The concert is Friday, March 4, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Claremont Forum, 111 S. College Ave., Claremont, CA. Refreshments provided. This concert kicks-off our Iraq War Anniversary protests, and gives us the opportunity to meet, to plan and to share ideas. Your group is welcome to set up a table to distribute your literature to other peace, justice, and environmental activists. The event is hosted by activist Marjorie Mikels who seeks endorsements from area peace groups, including Peace With Justice of the Pomona Valley. A $12 donation is requested at the door to defray costs but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Any monies received in excess of costs will benefit local peace groups. Directions: From I-10: Exit on Indian Hill Blvd. in Claremont. Go north, past Arrow Highway and, further on, over the RR tracks Turn right (East) on First Street Right again (South) on College Avenue, back over the RR tracks The red brick building is on the right or west side of the street. Sign on Building reads "Claremont Courier". The Forum is on the west end of the building. VOTER INFORMATION: Voters residing in Claremont have the opportunity to vote in a variety of other elections. Voters must be registered 15 days prior to an election in order to vote in that election. Registration forms are available at City Hall, the Claremont Public Library, and the Claremont Post Office.
