Political Philosophy for Martin D. Geimer

Representative Government is the cornerstone of our free society. I believe in Representative Government at every level of government. And that means every citizen in Beverly Hills is entitled to a voice in their government. I want to ensure that everyone's voice is HEARD and that is why I am running for City Council. It is my considered opinion that the City Council of Beverly Hills has not upheld the principle of Representative Government!! Ideally, the people elect a representative who will listen to their concerns and opinions and act upon them. I believe you deserve a representative who will be your spokesman in city council. My pledge is HONESTY on the issues, COMMITMENT to Fairness, and RESULTS that are fair and beneficial to all. In order to accomplish this, we must have better communication than is currently available between the council members and the residents who elect them. As your councilman, I will be directly available to you by maintaining scheduled office hours and conducting monthly Town Hall meetings prior to city council meetings. I will also use the power and convenience of the Internet. My purpose in putting communication in the forefront is to foster a truly Representative Government. Discuss issues and ideas with you, the residents, get your feedback, work to get a consensus, and implement your desires!!! You deserve a voice in your City Council and when elected I will be that voice. |
