To attract and retain experienced, qualified teachers, support small class sizes, maintain health services to students, and maintain safe, clean campuses, shall Little Lake City School District annually collect a $145/taxable parcel tax for seven years, with all funds staying in local schools, independent community oversight of all expenditures, exemptions for those 65 years and older, an annual cost of living adjustment and no funds for administrators'’ salaries?

Summary Prepared by School District Administration:
Election for Little Lake City School District parcel tax is Tuesday, March 8, 2005.

$145 annual parcel tax to:

  • Maintain health services for students;
  • Maintain small class sizes and retain high quality teachers;
  • Maintain safe, clean campuses.

Parcel tax for a period of seven (7) years.

All parcels that pay property taxes are subject to the parcel tax.

Senior citizen (over age 65) exemption is allowed.

No funds will be used for administrators' salaries.

There will be independent community oversight of all expenditures.

Requires 2/3rd’s voter approval for passage.

The Measure "A" parcel tax will help preserve/save:

  • Class size reduction in primary grades (K, 1, 2 and 3)
  • Health clerks to provide services to students
  • Custodial personnel to clean campuses
  • Groundskeeping personnel to maintain school grounds
  • Experienced and educated staff
