I firmly believe that judges are not legislators. We elect our senators and representatives to create our laws after careful review, consideration of competing interests, debate and compromise. Judges are asked to interpret law--to explain its meaning in the context of specific cases. My traditional view respects the separation of powers and allows the rule of law to govern.

I and my philosophy have been evaluated by the Ohio State Bar Association's Commission on Judicial Candidates, a 25-member panel that evaluates candidates based on eight nonpolitical criteria: legal knowledge and ability, professional experience, judicial competence, integrity, diligence, health, personal responsibility, and public/community service.

I received a rating of "Highly Recommended," a rating awarded to a candidate who receives favorable votes from at least 75% of the members of the Commission on Judicial Candidates.

If I am successful in this race, I pledge to work hard for all Ohioans, upholding the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Ohio, so help me God.
