"Quality of Life"

By Sandra J. "Sandy" (Tanner) Benitez

Candidate for Mayor; City of Riverbank

This information is provided by the candidate
To paraphrase President John Kennedy: "In the final analysis our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's futures, and we are all mortal."
These words, to me, mean that it is important to work together for the improvement of our lives and our families lives. "No one is an island."

Everyone has the right to be able to purchase or rent a home whether it is upscale, median or entry level. In Riverbank it is very important that housing is provided for all, regardless of culture, financial status, age or race. It is up to each one of us to take care of our homes and our neighborhoods. It is important to know and understand our neighbors. It is necessary for the city to provide safety, through police, fire and emergency services, clean and comfortable parks, and well maintained streets. Fundamental needs such as clean water and a modern, workable sewer system are imperative to the health and safety of our citizens.

Basically, we each have the same goals for ourselves and families: good education, financial security, a safe place to live and the right to persue these goals. All these things contribute to a finer quality of life. I believe, together, we can maintain or improve our enviroment; which in turn leads to a better way of life.
