Political Philosophy for Douglas Arthur "Art" Tuma

National government is established to protect private property rights as well as "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." But now national government takes private property rights
Socialist politicians win elections and fame with promises to fight drug abuse or protect wilderness with government force. Eco-priests and narco-police raise money for government crusades against private development and personal consumption. Journalists sell news of special interest group conflicts over the use of government property and tax revenue. But we all lose opportunity for private enjoyment of life and liberty when government takes private property rights. We all lose opportunity to profit from creative use of knowledge, skills, and natural resources. We all lose personal incentive to create private wealth. We all lose wealth when there is less private wealth to trade. Government schools program children to trust decisions by democracy (government) and distrust unregulated markets for exchange of private property. Government school graduates work wasted years to serve wasteful government consumption of wealth. We all gain precious years of financial independence by ending taxes and government property takings for the pleasure of a few socialist politicians, eco-priests and journalists. Environmentalists and drug-prohibitionists can persuade without using government property takings and imprisonment to threaten and punish people into involuntary compliance. To be free from government slavery (communism), we must limit government power to take private property. To save liberty for our children, we must teach our children to honor private property rights. To keep liberty protected from government assault, we must vote Libertarian. Libertarians defend Constitutional limits on government power, thereby protecting natural equal rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness by profitable use and exchange of private property. |
