Additional Endorsements for Richard Koffler
Candidate for |
I have absolutely no endorsements, and am proud of it because endorsements come with more strings than a theatre of marionettes. It's been quite amusing to see how candidates get endorsements. First you get questionnaires, calls and emails from every imaginable advocacy group, each with its own agenda to pass legislation that will cause ever-more government spending, taxation and regulation. In fact, every organization asks point-blank how you'll support their crusade to get government to spend lots of money or pass lots of regulations in favor of their causes. Adding insult to injury, the questionnaires disingineously corner you into chosing between extreme positions: "yes or no: do you support our cause or are you okay with risking the lives of all children?" So insincere that it would be hysterical if it weren't so sad. But, all told, this process is mostly a charade because crusaders already know who they'll endorse based on their philosophical alignment with either Democrats or Republicans. Being a Libertarian, I didn't respond to any questionnaire, calls or emails. Why bother? The only endorsements I want are those that count: on Election Day from voters who know I'm the best choice for our district. |
