I have always stood firm against a commercial airport at El Toro. I also support maintaining the cap on additional flights into John Wayne.I have not flip-flopped, I have always stood firm against a commercial airport at El Toro. I also support maintaining the cap on additional flights into John Wayne. We need a regional solution to our airport needs. We must accommodate the tremendous growth that is occurring in the Inland Empire by supporting greater airport capacity in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties where it's wanted. I am proud of the backing I have from prominent anti-airport leaders. Some of their statements are listed below: Chuck DeVore has been consistent in his opposition to the El Toro airport. He has never wavered in that conviction. Chuck DeVore's election to the State Assembly will help protect the 70th District as well as Orange County against any possible attempt to resurrect the El Toro airport in Sacramento. Bill Campbell Supervisor, County of Orange Former State Assemblyman Chuck DeVore has been a longtime friend to South Orange County. He knows where he stands, and he's never wavered in his commitment to our concerns. Richard Dixon Councilmember, City of Lake Forest Former Chairman of ETRPA I fully support Chuck DeVore for State Assembly. Not only has he been a strong advocate in opposing an airport at El Toro, but he will bring sound conservative leadership to the state legislature. Gary Thompson Mayor, City of Rancho Santa Margarita Vice-Chair, ETRPA Chuck DeVore has consistently opposed an airport at El Toro. We need a true believer like Chuck to continue the fight in the State Assembly. The pro-airport forces are still a threat. Dave Sullivan Councilmember, City of Huntington Beach |
