The San Diego region has experienced both the benefits of legal immigration and the hardship caused by illegal immigration. While in Congress, I have consistently sought to strengthen security on our borders, increasing border patrol and overall surveillance. I do not agree with the President's proposal to grant three year visas to potential immigrants, many who currently reside in the United States illegally. I believe individuals who are in our country illegally should return home. Those who seek to live or work here should go through the process millions have gone through before them. This process will allow our government to know who is here legally, so we know who is here illegally, such as terrorists. |
